The dragons here resemble your 'average' Western dragon in most anatomical ways (wings, scales, horns, claws, tails, etc). The tail is generally 2.5 to 3 times the length of the body, and each wing is normally a little over twice the length of the body. A dragon's characteristics are determined by four basic factors; colour, element, season, and region.
COLOUR
Dragons each have two colours. The first colour is red, blue, yellow, white, or black. The second colour is any of those or 'metallic'. The blend of the colours defines the dominant scale colour of the dragon. For example, Druid is white and black (or black and white, order doesn't matter) so he's mostly grey, no matter the shade. Here is a list of the 'formal' colour names. (So, though he's really dark grey and gold Druid is called a 'grey' dragon.)
Here is a chart/list/thing of formal colour titles.

Red doesn't mean just flat-out scarlet. A red dragon could appear crimson, even if it's not Red + Black. Here is a list of some possibilities (meaning there could be others, not just limited to these) of shades to the colours mentione above.
Red (Scarlet, maroon, wine/burgundy, peachy red/fleshy red)
Blue (Sky blue, cobalt, denim, dusky, slate)
Yellow (Golden yellow, canary, lemon)
White (White, light grey, extremely pale colours)
Black (Black, very dark grey, extremely dark colours)
Black and white also have the ability to seem 'cold' or 'warm'.
ELEMENT
Quick note: Dragons can not 'breathe' their element (usually). There are four known 'breaths' in dragonkind; flame, acid, venom, and frost. These are the only four that can be explained by nonmagical means.
Every dragon, along with their two colours, has two elements. One is dominant and the other recessive. The four base elements are fire, water, wind, and earth. No element is 'good against' another.
Fire-
Breath- Flame
Colours- Goldens, whites, reds, oranges
Features- Numerous blades and horns. Long-limbed, massy, muscular,
large in general.
Temperment- Hotheaded, very easy to aggravate, can be good to
be around but wields incredible destructive forces that may spring
out at the fall of a dime.
Water-
Breath- Frost and/or venom
Colours- Silvery greys, pale blues and greens, some muted purples
Features- Gills and fins, sleek serpentine body shape with shorter
limbs and wings. Massive, but most mass lies in length.
Temperment- Quite unpredictable and varying. Can be serene, cool,
mysterious, or merciless, brutal, and violent, or babbling and dopey.
Can also rapidly fluctuate between said personalities.
Wind-
Breath- Frost and acid
Colours- Grouped into three categories: very pale blues, whites,
yellows; soft pinks, purples, oranges, some red; black,
hints of silver, golden, white
Features- Larger than fire dragons but much narrower and slender, with
longer limbs and bigger wings.
Temperment- Like water dragons, winds fluctuate greatly in their
personalities. They all hate to be in one place and are wanderers, but
still have a fondness for their home. They can be gentle, pleasing,
merry, and sweet, or giggling, playful, and immature, or they can
harness destructive forces comparable to water and fire dragons,
dangerous, wild, and unfettered. Often very intelligent.
Earth-
Breath- Primarily acid, with some flame
Colours- Brown, green, grey
Features- Very large, with shortish limbs and wings, but with sheer
muscle behind them. Decked in many oversized blades and spikes. Often
have sabrefangs and very large, bluntish claws.
Temperment- Sometimes with sub-par intelligence, but not always.
Sometimes aggressive, territorial, wild and violent, sometimes jovial,
racous and welcoming but still dangerous. The more intelligent ones
are pragmatic and maternal.
Like colours, elements have formal titles. The first element is the dominant element, the second is recessive. Bits of both go into determining the dragon's features, but more of the dominant. Also, for things that conflict (say you're Wind + Earth, where you're 'often very intelligent' yet 'sometimes with sub-par intelligence'), the dominant element decides. (The Wind + Earth would end up as being intelligent since wind is dominant here.)

SEASON
Two seasons determine the dragon's 'active' half of the year, as well as influencing many of the other characteristics. While only few dragons hibernate, the dragon's season is when it finds itself more comfortable, etc. This is also considered their breeding season, while dragons don't have a set one.
Spring-
Colours- pastel greens, yellows, and blues
Size- smallish
Temperment- Respectful of all life and happy to care for it. Gentle,
rather passive, and kindly, honours the development of young creatures and
will defend hatchlings (or any infant beasts) to the bitter end.
Summer-
Colours- bright colours; green and yellow especially
Size- extremely small
Temperment- Vibrant and powerful personality, whatever it may be.
Energetic, up and at 'em. Would rather stay with what's always been
good rather than change, or go off and find something new.
Fall-
Colours- reds, browns, dusts, golden
Size- medium to large
Temperment- Often somewhat cynical and cool. Tends towards introspect
and self-bettering (changing things in theirself) rather than trying
to alter things in the world, but can very greatly.
Winter-
Colours- white, greys, silvers, dark green
Size- large
Temperment- Detatched or cold, highly introverted. Often lazy/sleepy
or has a lack of energy. Apathetic.

If a dragon is a spring dragon, its active season is the spring, as well as the first half of summer and the last half of winter. This goes for the other 'single' season dragons (fall dragons are active in late summer, through the fall, and early winter). On the other hand a metamorphose dragon has two seperate active points, in the spring and in the fall. And, lastly, a descent dragon will be active for fall and winter.
REGION
Dragons of this fleet come in two region-types that can interbreed; forest and plains. A dragon can be fullblooded of one or another, half and half, and so on, up until one eighth and seven eighths (one grandparent being of one region, the others all being the other region). Any less than that and it's considered 'fullblooded'.
Each of the region types have different characteristics, though they are similar enough to crossbreed. When creating your characters, feel free to mix and match. Note that the traits listed here are the BASE, and that you must also consider element, colour, and season.
What are the other regions, you ask in curiousity? They are jungle, swamp, ocean, tundra/arctic, cave, and mountain. But, due to conflicts with size or (obviously) location, you mayn't join as one. In the future I might offer cave, as well, for some people. As in, you'd have to e-mail me, set it up, etc. I won't give 'speshal' regions out to just anyone.
Golly, you ask, just why can't each reason be in the game? Well jungle dragons need to live in a dense wood, because they're arboreal and need the moisture that a jungle or particularly thick, deciduous forest would provide. Swamp dragons wouldn't want to live this far from a body of water, and are quite solitary beasts. Though, maybe for a really good present, I'll let one in. Maybe. Ocean dragons.. well.. yeah. Live in the ocean. Or other large bodies of water. They have gills. Tundra dragons have a very thick coat of fur over their scales and would die in any place much warmer than their frozen north. Cave dragons live in the subterranean world. They're also much larger compared to plains and forests, usually standing around twelve feet at the shoulder. Mountain dragons are also very solitary and WAY TOO BIG to be a member of a fleet like this one. I'm a mountain dragon, and my brain cavity is the size of a large car.
AGING
Plains and forest dragons each live about a thousand years. Their age is classed into one of six categories. Humans have baby, child, teen, young adult, adult.. and so on. Dragons have hatchling, juvenile, young adult, adult, wyrm, and great wyrm.
